The CHRIS (Compact High Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) is a new imaging spectrometer, carried on board a new space platform called PROBA (Project for On Board Autonomy). The satellite was successfully launched in late October, 2001.
NEWS
The mission is now run as a third party mission by ESA. There is a professionally-maintained CHRIS-PROBA page, run by ESA, and which contains latrest news and images: click here to go to it. This present site (www.chris-proba.org.uk) will continue to exist for the foreseeable future, and the pages for PROBA's orbital elements and the observing opportunities will continue to be updated, but visitors are advised to bookmark the ESA page in place of this one.
